BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 21. The United States is looking forward to participating in the Baku Dialogue on Water, said Laura Daniel-Davis, Acting Deputy Secretary of the US Department of the Interior, Trend reports.
Speaking at the high-level event "Celebrating Water’s Lifeline for Climate, Nature, and People" at COP29, Daniel-Davis stated that the Baku Dialogue on Water represents a significant step forward in helping countries continue to coordinate efforts to address water issues.
She emphasized that while the dialogue could provide a platform for finding technical solutions, it must also create opportunities for maintaining high levels of engagement on water-related matters.
"With the upcoming UN Water Conference in 2026, which will be co-hosted by the UAE and Senegal, the Baku Dialogue on Water on Climate could play a key role in helping the world better prepare for the conference and respond effectively to water challenges. The United States looks forward to participating in this dialogue and will continue to collaborate with governments, partners, stakeholders, and communities in the coming months and years—both within the UN and beyond—to address the global water crisis," she said.
