TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 25. Uzbekistan and Iran have signed a bilateral statement on the agreements reached on the further development of Uzbek-Iranian cooperation in trade-economic, investment, and transportation spheres, Trend reports.
According to information, the documents were signed within the framework of the working visit of Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov to Iran, where he held meetings with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref and Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Mohammad Atabak.
In the course of the talks, the sides reviewed the state of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran, including the implementation of existing agreements and joint projects, and together outlined priority areas for further cooperation.
Furthermore, the representatives of both countries agreed on joint steps to increase the volume of mutual trade, including the expansion of opportunities for entrepreneurs within the framework of the Preferential Trade Agreement between the countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and set the dates for holding the next 16th meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission between Uzbekistan and Iran, as well as a joint business forum within its framework in the first quarter of 2025.
