GiLTEX receives Amfori BSCI certification with an "A" rating

As the Textile partner of COP29, emphasizing its commitment to sustainability practices and global climate goals, GiLTEX LLC has achieved another milestone in its sustainability efforts by obtaining the Amfori BSCI certification. During an audit conducted by the Swiss SGS company, GiLTEX was awarded an "A" rating. This achievement confirms that GiLTEX, a company under GP Cotton Holdings, one of key players in Azerbaijan’s sustainability movement, adheres to the highest Amfori BSCI standards and follows responsible business practices.

The Amfori BSCI standards are recognized globally by world-class brands such as H&M, Adidas, IKEA, Marks & Spencer, and Amazon. As the first textile company in Azerbaijan to receive this certification, GiLTEX has secured its place among global organizations.

This certification will enhance GiLTEX’s reputation in international markets as a socially responsible organization with fair working conditions in its supply chain. It will also help the company establish long-term relationships and boost its export potential.

"Our COP29 partnership and the Amfori BSCI certification are a continuation of our sustainability efforts. We have been taking significant steps towards sustainability for some time, which is a strategic goal of ours. Examples include using eco-friendly chemicals in production, treating wastewater, and monitoring carbon emissions in vehicles used by company for logistics." said Kamran Agasi, CEO of GiLTEX LLC, regarding the achievement. He also highlighted that GiLTEX will continue to implement innovative solutions in sustainability going forward.

Amfori BSCI, created in 2003 by the Foreign Trade Association of Europe, is one of the world’s most renowned social audit programs. It supports companies in improving people’s well-being, responsibly using natural resources, and promoting open trade. These standards are based on international regulations such as the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the UN’s Human Rights Charter.
