BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 26. The delegation of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan will observe the parliamentary election of Uzbekistan, a source in the CEC told Trend.
According to the source, for this aim, the delegation has left for the country on a visit at the invitation of Uzbek CEC Zayniddin Nizamkhojayev.
"The visit agenda includes bilateral meetings for Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov with his Uzbek counterpart, as well as the heads of organizations involved in election monitoring and foreign electoral management bodies. These meetings are planned to discuss the prospects for developing inter-agency relations, new opportunities for cooperation in various election-related fields, and issues of mutual interest.
The Azerbaijani CEC previously took part in various international organizations observing the elections to the parliament of Uzbekistan. Other representatives of the commission participated as international observers in the election monitoring under the Organization of Turkic States and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
On the election day, the representatives of the CEC will observe the voting process in Tashkent and at polling stations located in the regions," the source reads.
To note, the parliamentary election in Uzbekistan will be held on October 27.
