Investigator at Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office Nadir Mirzayev rejected report by APA news agency claiming that he was removed from investigation into the case of the gang led by Shohrat Guliyev who was charged with committing murders in 2003-2004 upon request in Azerbaijan.
Azeri Press (APA) news agency disseminated false news once again which can harm investigation and credibility of officials serving at state bodies, senior investigator on serious cases at the Prosecutor General's Office told Trend .
He said he has been investigating lawsuit filed over willful murder of Baku resident Ahmad Ibrahimov from fire arm by unknown man in 2003 from February 9, 2005.
The investigations carried out jointly by the Interior Ministry and Republican Prosecutor's Office solved this crime as well as on the murder case of Ganja resident Kamal Alakbarov that took place on March 24, 2004. Thanks to irrefutable evidence, it was proven that these crimes were committed upon request of Ganja resident Ganja Shohrat Guliyev.
Members of the gang were arrested under the Penal Code, Mirzayev said.
He said lawsuits filed into six cases of willful murder that took place in Ganja from 2002 to 2008, with which members of the criminal group are suspected, have been merged into one case and currently a single investigative team of 13 experienced investigators under the leadership of Chief Investigations Department of the Serious Crimes Prosecutor General Eldar Ahmedov is conducting investigations to solve these crimes.
"Now I am member of a single investigation team and investigating murder of Ahmad Ibrahimov and Kamal Alakvarov," he said.
