BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 28. A project has been launched to export Azerbaijani products to the markets of Sri Lanka and India through the Azexport web portal and the MeetUp Networking Club, operators of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications, a source in the center told Trend.

For this aim, a meeting was held with Tani Shyen, the representative of an importing company operating in the Sri Lankan market.

"The meeting saw negotiations on promoting a range of agricultural products and food items produced in Azerbaijan to the supermarket chains in Sri Lanka and India. The legal requirements for such operations, including certification, customs, logistics, and insurance of export procedures, were clarified.

The head of the Azexport portal, Aykhan Gadashov, conducted an online presentation of Azerbaijani goods. This was followed by a tasting of agricultural products grown in Azerbaijan and discussions on their sales opportunities in the Sri Lankan and Indian markets.

It's planned to continue meetings between Shyen and companies operating in the agricultural sector involved in food production.

At the initial stage, various fruit juices, compotes, tomato paste, hazelnuts, pomegranates, dates, quinces, plums, and pears, as well as dried fruits, will be supplied to the supermarket chains in Sri Lanka and India. Entrepreneurs interested in collaboration in this area can submit their proposals through the Azexport.az portal and the MeetUp Networking Club," the source added.
