The Azerbaijani Azerfon mobile operator has successfully completed several tests to launch mobile communications on board of Azerbaijan Airlines aircrafts, Azerfon manager Elshad Farzaliyev told Trend today.
He said the project will be completed in May. The service will be available to Azerbaijan Airlines passengers from August.
The project is being implemented in accordance with an agreement signed by Azerfon, Azerbaijan Airlines and the Swiss OnAir.
The technical solution was carried out by OnAir, founded and owned by Airbus and SITA.
The service will be deployed on board 11 Airbus aircrafts and four Boeing aircrafts.
The services cost will meet operators' tariffs for roaming services.
