Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Huseynli / Protest demonstrations for the Khojali tragedy will be held in a range of European countries. "A demonstration and International Conference against the Khojali genocide will be held in Berlin," Hasan Zeynalov, the General Consul of Azerbaijan in Kars, said in an interview with Trend news agency.
On the night of 25 to 26 February 1992, with the assistance of the Russian 366th regiment, Armenian armed forces committed genocide in Khojali. Hundreds of the Azerbaijani civilians lost their live in the genocide. Moreover, thousands of people were injured and many are still missing.
Zeynalov said that the International Conference with participation of representatives of more than 20 countries will be held in Berlin for the Khojali tragedy. An appeal will be submitted to parliaments of countries to recognize the Khojali genocide.
The event will be held in the central streets of Berlin. The event is being organized by Igdir Municipality and the Azerbaijani General Consulate in Kars.
