The tent camps of refugees and internally displaced people (IDP) may be liquidated not only by the end of 2007, but earlier, Ali Hasanov, vise-primer of Azerbaijan and also chairman of the State Committee on Refugees and IDP, told journalists.
Hasanov said that in accordance with the order of Azerbaijani president, refugees and IDP should be removed to new settlements. The State Committee concentrates all efforts to complete the realization of the program by the middle of next year.
By the end of this year, it is planned to liquidate 4 tent camps, 3 in Barda and 1 in Agjabadi district. Other three camps will be liquidated next year 2 in Saatli and 1 in Sabirabad. The projects of new settlements are already ready and they will start to be constructed in the near future.
