BERLIN, Germany, April 26. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is expected to take part in the 15th Petersberg Climate Dialogue in Berlin, Trend reports.
The event will feature a joint address by President Aliyev and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
In addition, there are also expected to be meetings between the Azerbaijani head of state and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany, as well as with the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock.
Meanwhile, since 2010, the Petersberg Climate Dialogue has served as a platform for annual meetings of individual countries to prepare for the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP).
This year, COP29 will be hosted by Azerbaijan. The decision was made at the plenary session of COP28 held in Dubai on December 11th of the previous year. Over the course of two weeks, Baku, becoming the center of attention, will welcome around 70-80 thousand foreign guests.
