BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. The production of Iran's South Pars gas company increased by more than 4 bcm in total in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), Executive Director of Iran's South Pars Gas Company Ahmad Bahush said, Trend reports.
According to him, the reason for the increase was the early completion of overhauls at 13 processing plants of the company. Thus, the timeframe for overhauls at the company's plants has been reduced from 15 days to 9 days.
Bahush stated that last year, South Pars Gas Company increased the volume of gas supplied to the country's gas network by 3 percent.
The official noted that the company produced more than 640,000 tons of sulfur last year. This is 10 percent more than last year.
Meanwhile, 225 bcm of rich gas was supplied from the South Pars gas field of the South Pars Gas Company in Iran last year. This rich gas was processed, and 196 bcm of natural gas was transferred to the country's gas network.
South Pars Gas Company obtains 650 million cubic meters of rich gas daily from the South Pars gas field. A total of 580 million cubic meters of gas is processed and transferred to the country's gas network. The company also produces 780,000 barrels of gas condensate, 15,000 tons of ethane, 15,000 tons of propane, 10,000 tons of butane, and 2,500 tons of sulfur daily.
The South Pars gas field (North Douma in Qatar) is a joint gas field between Iran and Qatar. Iran's share in this field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
