BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. Türkiye's exports to member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) decreased by 2.2 percent in March 2024 compared to the same month in 2023 and amounted to $5.7 billion, the statement of Türkiye's Trade Ministry said, Trend reports.

According to the information, Türkiye's exports to OIC member countries totaled $16.2 billion from January through March this year, up 10.4 percent compared to the same period last year.

"Türkiye's imports from member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation increased by 11.1 percent in March this year compared to the same period in 2023 and amounted to $3.8 billion," the statement of the ministry says.

Additionally, it was noted that Türkiye's imports from OIC member countries rose 1.3 percent year-on-year to $9.7 billion from January through March 2024.

Besides, Türkiye's foreign trade turnover reached $52.4 billion in March 2024.

The ministry noted that Türkiye's exports totaled $22.5 billion in March 2024, which is 4.1 percent less than the same month in 2023, while imports totaled $29.9 billion, down 6.3 percent.

"Türkiye's foreign trade turnover reached $147.5 billion from January through March this year," the statement from the ministry reads.

However, the ministry added that Türkiye's exports rose 3.6 percent from January through March 2024 compared to the same period in 2023 to $63.6 billion, while imports fell 12.8 percent to $83.9 billion.

To note, Türkiye's foreign trade turnover reached $617.5 billion last year.

Türkiye's exports totaled $255.7 billion in 2023, up 0.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022, while imports decreased 0.5 percent to $361.7 billion.
