ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 6. The textile enterprises under Turkmenistan's Ministry of Textile Industry surpassed production goals across various sectors from January through April 2024, Trend reports.
According to the official source, this was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdaev, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"The growth in the volume of products produced by enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry, including cotton fabric, is 8.4 percent, sewing and knitwear – 4.8 percent, and leather goods – 17.3 percent," he said.
The Deputy Chairman added that in the first quarter of this year, the enterprises of the Turkmenhaly State Association also fulfilled the carpet production plan by 100.7 percent.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's textile industry has experienced substantial growth thanks to government investments and strategic modernization initiatives.
The nation has prioritized the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and equipment, along with implementing reforms in legislation and economic policies to incentivize foreign investment. These efforts have led to notable expansions in production capacity and enhancements in product quality.
