Electricity production at Iran's Bistoon TPP revealed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. Production of electricity at Iran's Bistoon TPP amounted to more than 214 million kilowatts in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 20, 2024), executive director of Iran's Bistoon Electric Company Masoud Mirza Asghari said, Trend reports.

According to Mirza Asghari, about 196 million kilowatts of produced electricity were supplied to the country's power grid in the first month.

Mirza Asghari added that, in addition, major repair works were carried out at two units of the power plant.

Meanwhile, the electricity generation potential of Bistoon TPP in Kermanshah province, located in the western part of the country, is 640 megawatt-hours.

To note, Iran's electricity generation potential in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024) was 92,841 megawatt-hours. Of this, 81.5 percent was accounted for by thermal power plants.
