ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 6. Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas-Aero (a subsidiary of KazMunayGas, the national oil and gas company) has begun building a large fuel filling complex at Aktobe airport, Trend reports.
At the new fueling complex, along with aviation fuel RT and TS-1, it will be possible to use jet fuel of the Jet A-1 brand.
According to the KMG, the implementation of this project will give impetus to the region's development, increase the airport's competitive advantage, and contribute significantly to the country's transit potential.
Thus, the first stage entails the construction of a mobile refueling complex (on wheels) with a capacity of 600 cubic meters of aviation fuel, as well as the acquisition of two tankers.
The second stage includes the construction of a stationary tank farm with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters, a loading and unloading rack, a control center, and other facilities.
As the KMG noted, the complex will meet all international safety standards, provide a high level of quality fuel service for air carriers, and create new jobs for residents of the region.
We schedule the project's completion for 2026.
Previously, the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan agreed to progressively transition to JET A-1 fuel, taking into consideration airport capacities and needs.
In addition, according to KMG, the company's oil refineries are ready to produce jet fuel of the international brand Jet A-1, which is used in more than 70 countries around the world. According to KMG experts, the production of Jet A-1 necessitates a complete reconfiguration of the corresponding plant capacities because parallel production of TS-1 fuel is impossible.
