Exports of non-oil products from Iran's Semnan province skyrocket

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. The exports of non-oil products from Iran's Semnan province, located in the northern part of the country, increased by 80 percent in value terms and 96 percent in weight terms in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 2024) compared to the same month of last year, director general of Iran's Semnan province customs department, Mourtaza Hajiannejad said, Trend reports.

According to him, 29,000 tons of non-oil products worth $10 million were exported from Iran's Semnan province in the first month.

Hajiannejad added that detergents, sodium carbonate, wire, and many others were mainly exported from Semnan province. The products from the province were exported to 34 countries.

The official noted that Semnan province imported 1,550 tons of products worth $6.5 million in the first month. Raw materials and equipment were mainly imported to Semnan province.

To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, the country's non-oil exports amounted to 9.7 million tons worth $3.17 billion in the first month of the current Iranian year. During the first month, Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 16.9 percent in value terms and 9.66 percent in weight terms compared to the same month of last year.
