BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. During the first three months of 2024, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline, which passes through Türkiye, increased annualized oil transportation by roughly one percent, reaching 55.3 million barrels, Trend reports via BOTAS International Ltd (BIL, operator of BTC's Turkish section).
Of this volume, 19.36 million barrels of oil were transported in March (two percent less than in March 2023).
To note, the BTC has been operating since 2006, and it transports oil from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, as well as condensate from the Shah Deniz field.
The throughput capacity of the BTC is more than one million barrels per day.
