BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. The export of non-oil products from the Bileh Savar border terminal in Ardabil province in northwestern Iran increased by 81 percent in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 2024) compared to the same month of last year, the Director General of the Road and Transportation Department of Iran's Ardabil Province, Kalimollah Vosughi said, Trend reports.

According to him, about 65,500 tons of non-oil products were exported from the Bileh Savar border terminal in the first month. During the same month of the previous year, 35,700 tons of non-oil products were exported from this border terminal.

Vosughi added that mainly ceramics, glass, potatoes, building materials, salt, etc. were exported through the Bilasuvar border terminal. The products were exported mainly to Azerbaijan, Russia, and Georgia.

The official noted that 2,680 tons of products were imported through the Bileh Savar border terminal in the first month. Imports of products decreased by 9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Vosughi stated that about 90,000 tons of products were transported through the Bileh-Savar border terminal in the first month. Some 53 percent of the products were transported by Iranian trucks, 39 percent by Azerbaijani trucks, and 8 percent by trucks from other countries.

Meanwhile, Iran's Bileh Savar border terminal is located on the border with Azerbaijan.

To note, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, in the first month of the current Iranian year, Iran's non-oil exports amounted to 9.7 million tons worth $3.17 billion. During the first month, Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 16.9 percent in value terms and by 9.66 percent in weight terms compared to the same month of last year.
