TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 6. Uzbekistan signed agreements worth $26.6 billion during the III Tashkent International Investment Forum, Trend reports.
According to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, this figure has increased by $15.6 billion year-on-year ($11 billion in 2023).
The country signed agreements on the implementation of major investment projects:
DataVolt (Saudi Arabia) - construction of urban infrastructure in New Tashkent and a data center based on green technologies. Investments in the projects will amount to $1 billion and $3 billion respectively.
ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia) - construction of a 5 GW wind farm in Karakalpakstan, creation of a 2 GW electricity storage device. The total cost of the projects is $6.2 billion.
Amea Power (UAE) - construction of a 1,000 MW wind farm in Karakalpakstan worth $1.1 billion.
Saudi Tabrid (Saudi Arabia) - modernization of the heat supply system in Nukus, Fergana and Quvasoy worth $750 million.
Nil Shugar (Egypt) - sugar beet cultivation and sugar production in the Jizzakh region worth $500 million.
Shanghai Knud International (China) - production of textile and garment products in Namangan region worth $205 million.
Wilmar International (Singapore) - manufacture of food products and confectionery in the Tashkent region worth $200 million.
Also at the forum, agreements were reached with Orascom Investment (Egypt), Bonafarm Group (Hungary), Sayar (USA), Goldwind, Sinoma (China), Sam Yapi (Turkey), PASHA Development (Azerbaijan), Lasselsberger (Austria), and Petrosat Chexelsoton (Iran) on the realization of new investment projects worth $6.6 billion.
On May 2–3, Tashkent hosted the III Tashkent International Investment Forum.
Almost 2,500 people from 93 countries participated in the forum. Among them were government representatives, heads of major companies, as well as high-ranking guests from international organizations such as the UN, EBRD, OPEC, and SCO.
The forum program included more than 40 events, including breakout sessions, round tables, presentations, and meetings of intergovernmental commissions.
