ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 6. The growth rate of Turkmenistan's gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 6.3 percent from January through April 2024, Trend reports.

According to an official source, this was stated by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

He noted that this figure in the industrial sector reached 3.7 percent, in the transport and communications sector - 7.2 percent, in the service sector - 8 percent, in the shopping complex - 8.2 percent, in construction - 5.8 percent, in agriculture - 5 percent.

The President added that the country continues to build large industrial and social facilities, including new settlements, residential buildings, entertainment and wellness centers, schools, kindergartens, and other facilities.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has been steadily bolstering its economy, focusing on energy, transportation, and infrastructure initiatives.

Efforts to attract foreign investments, prioritize economic diversification, and foster an entrepreneurial environment are actively underway.
