TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 6. The volume of CIS countries' imports to Uzbekistan amounted to $3.3 billion from January through March 2024, Trend reports.
As per data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 10 percent compared to the same period last year ($3 billion in January-March 2023).
The country's main partners in the import of goods and services during this period were China (27.1 percent), Russia (22 percent), Kazakhstan (6.8), Korea (5.6 percent), and Türkiye (4.2 percent).
China’s imports to Uzbekistan amounted to $2.5 billion from January through March 2024. Russia ranks second with an import volume of $2 billion, while Kazakhstan’s imports reached $642.9 million, followed by Korea - $533.2 million, and Türkiye - $394.4 million.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's volume of foreign trade turnover with CIS countries reached $5 billion in the first quarter of 2024.
Compared to the first quarter of 2023, the country's foreign trade turnover with CIS nations increased by 6.3 percent.
The exports totaled $1.7 billion, while imports were $3.3 billion from January through March 2024.
