Turkmenistan's agro-industrial sector thrives with surging production growth

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 6. Turkmenistan's agro-industrial complex saw a significant boost in production from January through April this year, Trend reports.

As the official source reported, Tangryguly Atakhallyev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan claimed it at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to him, in the specified period, the growth rate of production volumes in Turkmenistan's agricultural sector amounted to 24.4 percent.

At the same time, the Deputy Chairman added that this figure for the first 4 months of 2024 for the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan amounted to 44.2 percent, and for the Ministry of Environmental Protection it was 0.1 percent.

Atakhallyev stressed that the plan for the development of investments in the specified period was exceeded at a level of 182.6 percent.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has placed a strong emphasis on advancing its agro-industrial sector, with a focus on upgrading farming techniques, enhancing productivity, and securing food self-sufficiency.

Substantial investments have been directed towards improving infrastructure, including irrigation systems and agricultural machinery. By incorporating cutting-edge farming practices and technologies, there has been a marked rise in agricultural output.
