ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 26. Turkmenistan and Georgia discussed issues of expanding economic cooperation, Trend reports.

According to official data, these issues were discussed during the meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Georgia, Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, with Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze.

During the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction the high level of bilateral relations, considered the possibilities of expanding trade and economic ties, investment cooperation, further implementation of joint projects for the development of transport, logistics, and energy infrastructure, and created conditions for direct contacts between the business communities of Turkmenistan and Georgia.

They also discussed issues regarding the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Georgian Commission on Economic Cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that relations between Turkmenistan and Georgia, based on the principles of friendship, mutual respect, and trust, will continue to actively develop for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

Meanwhile, recently, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting where they discussed the development of fruitful, comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting took place within the framework of Shalva Papuashvili's official visit to Turkmenistan, accompanied by a parliamentary delegation.
