BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Joint Russian-Turkish Monitoring Centre in Azerbaijan's Aghdam has held a closing ceremony today, Trend's Karabakh Bureau reports.

The ceremony was attended by first Deputy Minister of Defense - Chief of General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army. Colonel General Karim Valiyev, Advisor to the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Bakhtiyar Ersai, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Sergey Istrakov, as well as other servicemen and representatives of the media,

First, the national anthems of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Russia were played.

Welcoming the participants of the ceremony, Colonel General Valiyev spoke about the activities of the Joint Monitoring Center established under the Memorandum signed on November 11, 2020, between Türkiye and Russia.

The Chief of General Staff expressed gratitude to the Turkish and Russian servicemen for their diligent and courageous service for peace and stability in the region since January 30, 2021, and wished them success in their future service.

It was also noted that in line with the trilateral Statement signed on November 10, 2020, by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the President of the Russian Federation, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the activities of the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation temporarily stationed in the Karabakh Economic Region of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in accordance with the agreement reached between the top leadership of the two countries, are halted ahead of schedule, and the process of complete withdrawal from the country's territory begins.

The closing ceremony concluded with an artistic performance featuring the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Ideological and Cultural Center named after Hazi Aslnov and the Military Orchestra of the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev.
