As of preliminary data, 57 people died in a roof collapse at Basmanniy bazaar, while 32 people got injuries. The rescue teams examined every places where people could be. There are almost no chances to find live people under the ruins, the specialists noted.
Special technique is currently working in the place of incident and the lorries carry the wreckage.

The Prosecutor Office of Moscow instituted proceedings on the fact of roof caving at Bauman Bazaar in accordance with Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Russia (causing death of two or more people due to carelessness) and Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia (negligence), Anatoliy Zuayev, the Prosecutor of Moscow, told journalists. Zuayev said that three versions were under consideration: violation of exploitation rules of the building, security guidelines not to be implemented by the management of the bazaar, as well as mistakes in designing the building.
