President of  Turkey to Visit   Azerbaijan on 6-8 November

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend E.Huseynov / The President of Turkey, Abdullah Gul, will make an official visit to Azerbaijan on 6-8 November, a source at the Turkish Embassy in Baku reported to Trend on 1 November.

It will be the first foreign visit of the Turkish President (Leader of ruling Justice and Development Party) elected on 28 August 2007.

The Ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan, Huseyn Avni Karsioglu, reported to Trend on 1 November that Azerbaijan and Turkey are fraternal countries and therefore, as a rule, the newly elected President of Turkey will make his first official visit to Azerbaijan.

According to the Ambassador, the visit will begin with talks of the Azerbaijani Head and continue with the meetings in the Parliament, participation in the ceremony of putting the first stone of a new building of Khazar University (Caspian). Gul will become familiarized with the places of interest of the Azerbaijani capital. Within his visit to Azerbaijan, the President of Turkey will arrive in Azerbaijan's city of Ganja and visit Mausoleum of Azerbaijan's Great Poet, Nizami Ganjavi, grave of Javadkhan, headquarter of Nuru Pasha, as well as the building of the first Parliament of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

The former President of Turkey, Ahmad Nejdet Sezer, visited Azerbaijan in April 2006.
