Meeting of Azerbaijani Opposition Party Postponed

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / The planned forth meeting of the Civil Solidarity Party (CSP) of Azerbaijan, which was scheduled for 17 November was postponed, Sabir Rustamkhanli, CSP's chairman said on 15 November.

Rustamkhanli said even the place where the meeting was planning to hold was defined. However, CSP has to postpone the meeting due to the 11th meeting of the Friendship, Brotherhood and Cooperation of the Turkish speaking states will be held in Baku on 17 November. The chairman of the party will take part at the 11th meeting. According to Rustamkhanli, the next meeting of CSP will be held in the first quarter of December. Rustamkhanli will nominate his candidature for the chairman post again. There will not take changes in the course of the party after the meeting. "There are wrong ideas among population that we take arbitration position between the Authorities and opposition. We were and will be an opposition party in the future. We just support fair radical statements and national interests," Rustamkhanli said.

CSP was founded by a group of intelligentsia under the leadership of one of the leaders of the National Liberation Movement of Azerbaijan, Rustamkhanli on 26 September 1992.
