Azerbaijan Backs Establishment of Parliamentary Assembly of Caspian Littoral Countries
Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 May / corr Trend I.Alizade / Azerbaijan has given its green signal to establish the Parliamentary Assembly of Caspian littoral countries. "The parliamentary assemblies have been established with the Black Sea basin countries and other regions, and Azerbaijan is very eager to become a member of these organizations," Bahar Muradova, the vice speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament told journalists on 23 May.
Last week, Boris Grizlov, the chairman of the State Duma [Russian Parliament] was on a visit to Azerbaijan. He discussed with the Azerbaijani leadership the establishment of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Caspian littoral countries.
"By making the proposal to establish the Parliamentary Assembly of the Caspian littoral countries, Russia actually views to launch a new form of cooperation in the Caspian region. In future the Parliamentary Assembly of the Caspian littoral countries may be established, which would result in bringing the countries of this region more close," she said.
