Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 July / Trend corr E.Babayev/ On 2 August, Azerbaijani opposition party Musavat will make its final decision on participation in elections. "Musavat's administration will meet on 2 August. Discussions at its regional offices on participation in the elections have been almost completed," head of Musavat's Central Executive Administration Arif Hajili said to Trend on 14 July.

Azerbaijan will hold presidential elections on 15 October. In December, 2007, Musavat nominated its chairman Isa Gambar. After passing of supplements and changes in the Election Code on 2 June, Musavat put participation in elections for discussion at its regional offices. Musavat says the changes will negatively affect democratic elections.

Hajili said it is difficult to comment on regional offices' views on the elections. "Regional offices and administration of the party has different views on the issue," he said. According to him, on 2 August, elections will be held to fill vacant positions in party's administration.

Opposition Musavat party was founded at the beginning of 1992. Its leader, Isa Gambar, was the speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament between 1992 and 1993. In 2003, he ran for presidency. The party is represented by 5 MPs in the Parliament.
