Drugs Smuggled from Iran Discovered in South of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Lankaran, 7 November/ Trend , corr P. Aliyeva/ Drugs smuggled from Iran in large numbers have been discovered in southern Astara region (300km of Baku) of Azerbaijan.

"About 1.5kg of hashish has been confiscated from Gabil Shanulla oglu Nasirov, 23, of Archivan village," Arzu Hajiyev, deputy police chief of Astara region said to Trend .

Hajiyev said Nasirov admitted that he smuggled drugs from Iran in order to sell it to his fellow villager Famil Jabrayil oglu Aliyev, 23.

A suit has been filed on obtaining drugs by a group or organized gang (Article 234.4.1) of Penal Code. An investigation has been launched into the fact.
