Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration David Darchiashvili states that the paper, adopted at the 56th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Western European, deals with the military invasion of Russia in Georgia.
"The international community has another significant fact for Georgia. On June 4, Paris hosted the 56th session of the PA Western Europe. This is a joint assembly of the parliamentary delegation of the European Union, which only works on defense and security. The Assembly draws attention to statements by President Medvedev on need for a new European security architecture, but believes that a military incursion into Georgia and subsequent actions are contrary to the wishes expressed by Medvedev," he said.
Darchiashvili said such statements, made at a forum of high representation, must be taken into account both domestically and internationally, including members of the commission.
