A preparatory meeting of the court took place on the criminal case of the Azerbaijani soldiers accused of high treason.
During the meeting it was agreed that the consideration of the case at the military court will begin on June 24, a source at the Military Court on Heinous Crimes told Trend on June 9.
The court process will be closed.
Military people of N military unit of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan, located in Kalbadjar district, lieutenant Javadov Khagani, junior sergeants Mammadov Elchin and Tagiyev Samir, as well as soldier Aliyev Suleyman were arrested on 18 May last year.
In collusion with several persons, Javadov Khagani forced his soldiers to spy for the Armenians. The Armenians, taking advantage of these soldiers, received information about the positions of Azerbaijani Army and planned attacks on the territory of Azerbaijan.
Those arrested are charged under articles 150 (sexual assault), 228 (illegal purchase of firearms, their components and explosives), 274 (treason), 333 (self-willed leave from the military unit), 338 (violation of the rules of military attire), 341 (overstepping authority) and 349 (intentional infliction of harm to military property and destruction) of the Criminal Code of Azrebaijan.
