The U.S. Congress has adopted the resolution "Democracy in Georgia" which urges Russia to withdraw its troops from the Georgian territory.
The congress stresses necessity to impose pressure on Russia to withdraw its troops from the Georgian territories, Georgian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to U.S. Batu Kuteliya said when commenting on the paper.
Kuteliya said the U.S. congress's resolution fully reflects support to Georgia and emphasizes necessity of de-occupation and development of democratic reforms.
The fact that the paper stresses necessity of assistance in democratic processes in Georgia is an important milestone, the ambassador said.
