State Water Rescue Service (SWRS) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan has completed preparatory work in connection with the beach season, which began in Azerbaijan on June10, and shifted to an intensified regime of activity.

During the exercises carried out in order to familiarize with the work done in preparation for the season and preparedness of the rescuers in the Shikh-2 station of SWRS, the rescue team rescued "sinking" man and gave him artificial respiration. During the exercises, it became clear that the "sinking" citizen was rescued in time and medical aid was provided to him.

SWRS has 43 stations and posts in the Republic, Mubariz Zeynalov, head of propaganda and organization sector of SWRS, told Trend . At all stations were completed the process of determining dislocations, beach beds, cleaning the bottom of the sea and the determination of the depth and beach safety seats, installation of restrictive floats (balls).

He said that all stations were supplied with full equipment. In this season, the stations were provided with approximately 100 motor boats, 15 scooters and five slopes, said Zeynalov.

This year, for the first time scooters will be used during the rescue operations, he said. According to him, the staff capacity of the Service was strengthened. For this purpose, two rescue trainings were held with the participation of experienced specialists: once - training of steersmen, as well as technically minimum examinations S-1 and S-2 in order to enhance the professional preparedness of rescue teams, said Zeynalov.

From June 10, SWRS intensified its work, with its 350 professional staff. During the beach season, in addition to 43 stations, there will be established portable and seasonal posts in other areas where necessary.

According to Zeynalov, last season due to a lack of rescuers on private beaches, the cases of sale of alcoholic drinks and the number of people drowned in the sea increased.

"Last season no one was drowned in the territories controlled by us," said Zeynalov.

According to the sector head, the owners of private beaches were warned of providing rescue teams, prohibiting the sale of alcoholic drinks during the beach season, as well as taking relevant measures.

According to Zeynalov, in most cases, owners of private beaches do not attach importance to security measures, and this causes accidents.

Zeynalov said that an appeal was made to the Ministry of Health for providing medical stations on beaches. Ambulance will operate in all stations.

Employees of State Water Rescue Service enlighten pupils of secondary schools in order to minimize accidents on beaches.

Employees of the Service call upon people to swim only in areas controlled by rescue teams and not to swim drunk.
