Turkish President, Abdullah Gul told journalists after the meeting with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan, who arrived in the Turkish city of Bursa to watch Turkey-Armenia football match on Oct. 12 that they try together not to move backwards in the Turkey-Armenia relations, the Turkish Anadolu news agency reported.

Turkish President, Abdullah Gul told journalists after the meeting with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan, who arrived in the Turkish city of Bursa to watch Turkey-Armenia football match on Oct. 12 that they try together not to move backwards in the Turkey-Armenia relations, the Turkish Anadolu news agency reported.

"We - I and my Armenian counterpart - try not to move backwards in the Turkey-Armenia relations," Gul said.

Turkish President, Abdullah Gul yesterday met with his Armenia counterpart Serzh Sargsyan, visiting the Turkish city of Bursa to watch the Turkey-Armenian football match. The Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davudoglu met the Armenian President, Serzh Sargsyan. According to CNN Turk, the Turkish President organized a dinner in honor of his Armenian counterpart. After the dinner, the two countries' officials left for the Ataturk stadium in the Bursa city to watch the football match. Commenting on these meetings, Abdullah Gul said they do not write the history, but create it.

The Turkey-Armenia football match ended with 2:0 score.

Gul also added that his country made successful steps in normalization of the relations with Armenia during the past two years.
