Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze renounced Russian citizenship today. The minister sent his passport and renunciation request to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Vashadze said before a governmental meeting today.
"I have decided to make it easier for Russia, as the Russian Constitution does not provide for the deprivation of citizenship. I have decided to renounce my citizenship myself," Vashadze said.
Recently, Russian MP Semen Bagdasarov demanded Vashadze's de-naturalization for constantly defaming "Russia in all international meetings."
