About 732 candidates, wishing to participate in Azerbaijani parliamentary elections, were registered, Mazahir Panahov, the CEC chairman, said.

He said that the committee refused from registering 311 people.

The registered candidates are as follows: New Azerbaijan Party - 111 representatives, the electoral blocs PPFA-Musavat - 38 people, Karabakh - 32, Transformation - 31, Classic Popular Front - 30, Azerbaijani National Independence Party (ANIP) - 25, Azerbaijani Democratic World Party - 20, For the sake of person - 21, Ana Vatan - 7, Modern Musavat Party - 7, Azerbaijani National Democratic Party and Azerbaijani Social Democratic Party - 2, Tereggi and the National Statehood Party - 1 candidate.

Azerbaijani CEC considered candidates' appeals for the parliamentary elections. Two of ten appeals were met.

Some signatures, collected in favor of Nureddin Mammadli, the deputy chairman of Azerbaijani Popular Front Party, were declared invalid during the CEC meeting today.

The district election commission's decision on refusal from registering his candidature was kept in force.

Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. The election campaign was officially launched on September 3. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
