Two ambassadors of Azerbaijan will now reside in Switzerland, Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev told Trend on Monday commenting on the appointment of an ambassador of Azerbaijan to Switzerland.
"Ekrem Zeynally has been appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Swiss Confederation with residence in Berne, and Murad Najafbeyli will remain Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UN and other international organizations with residence in Geneva," said Abdullayev.
President Ilham Aliyev signed on Monday an order to appoint Ekrem Zeynally the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Switzerland.
Upon another Presidential order, Zeynally was conferred a diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
The President also recalled Murad Najafbeyli from the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Switzerland.
