The Embassy of Azerbaijan to Turkey has no information on citizens of Azerbaijan injured in clashes in the country's major cities.

After the beginning of the clashes between the police and the proetestors in Istanbul, then Ankara, Izmir and other cities of Turkey, Azerbaijan's Embassy in Ankara and Consulate General in Istanbul contacted fellow citizens and so far there are no official or unofficial reports on injured citizens of Azerbaijan, the Embassy told Trend on Monday.

Rallies in support of the protesters at Gezi Park on Taksim Square in Istanbul took place in different cities of Turkey. According to the Turkish media, there is still tension in the park. The protesters opposing the destruction of the park have built barricades on Istiklal Street and are throwing stones at the police.

According to the report, the police used tear gas and water cannons in order to disperse the protesters. The governor of Istanbul Huseyin Avni Mutlu said that 58 people were injured and over 730 detained during the riots.

The 6th Istanbul Administrative Court decided to suspend the construction of the Topçu Kışlası shopping centre on Taksim Square.

On the morning of June 1in the Turkish province of Izmit, a group of protesters tried to seize the building of the ruling party of Turkey. Local police dispersed the demonstrators.
