BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. Moscow, Ankara, and Tehran have proposed that Baku and Yerevan utilize the "3+3" platform to finalize the peace treaty, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said following a meeting under the "3+3" framework for the South Caucasus, Trend reports.

"We, along with Türkiye and Iran, have encouraged our colleagues from Azerbaijan and Armenia to use the '3+3' platform to complete their work on the peace treaty," he said.

Concerning the Armenian-Turkish normalization process, Lavrov highlighted some persistent issues.

"Currently, there are no scheduled meetings, as the Armenian side has opted for a pause. They believe it is crucial to first engage directly with the Turks to determine the necessary steps," the Russian FM added.

To note, a meeting of foreign ministers in the "3+3" format took place in Istanbul, Türkiye, involving the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Russia, Türkiye, Armenia, and Iran.
