TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 17. Uzbekistan and Qatar signed an agreement on opening a representative office of Qatar Dynasty Jet in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
The document was signed during a round table between Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, First Deputy Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohamed Bin Ahmed Twar Al Kuwari, and representatives of more than 40 large companies of Uzbekistan and Qatar.
The sides also signed contracts on export of agricultural and food products between Qatari Al Mai Trading, High Com Global Trading companies, and Uzbek Millmax Trading and Turan as companies.
During the meeting, the Uzbek side noted the positive dynamics of trade-economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. A number of major Qatari companies are successfully implementing investment projects in Uzbekistan in energy, road infrastructure, logistics, and tourism.
At the same time, it emphasized the need to expand the scale of joint projects in agriculture, food, textiles, mining and metallurgy, energy and petrochemicals, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, transport, and logistics.
Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with a delegation from Qatar led by Finance Minister Ali bin Ahmad Al Kuwari, who arrived to attend a meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
The sides discussed the possibilities of further deepening bilateral cooperation, especially in the trade and economic spheres. Particular attention was paid to joint projects in key areas such as green energy, transport, healthcare, tourism, and infrastructure development.
