Azerbaijan’s budget gets boost from strong excise tax revenues
Excise tax revenues in Azerbaijan exceeded both the forecast and the previous year’s figures, mainly due to higher imports of vehicles and increased domestic production of tobacco products. While revenues from the oil sector slightly underperformed, strong growth in the non-oil sector and changes in excise stamp regulations contributed significantly to the overall increase.
