Uzbekistan tallies trade turnover volume with South Korea

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 18. The foreign trade turnover between Uzbekistan and South Korea amounted to $1.3 billion from January through August 2024.

The data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistics Agency shows that this is 14.6 percent less compared to the same period of 2023, when the trade turnover amounted to $1.49 billion.

South Korea hit the ground running, landing in the top five when it comes to trade turnover with Uzbekistan's biggest trading partners during this stretch.

Uzbekistan's exports to South Korea totaled $24.7 million, which is 19 percent less than last year ($29.4 million from January through August 2023).

Furthermore, Uzbekistan's imports from South Korea reached $1.2 billion from January through August 2024. This figure decreased by 21.6 percent compared to the same period last year ($1.46 billion from January through August 2023).

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $42.7 billion from January through August 2024. This indicator increased by 6.7 percent compared to the same period last year ($40 billion from January through August 2023).

To note, Uzbekistan's exports from January through August 2024 reached $17.3 billion, while imports reached $25.3 billion.
