BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 17. The atmosphere at the National Gymnastics Arena is wonderful and gives positive energy, Icelandic gymnast Eva Thorsteinsdotti, taking part in the 15th European TeamGym Championship, which is held in Baku for the first time, told Trend.
She noted that she is coming to Azerbaijan for the first time.
“Azerbaijan is an interesting and beautiful country. I am very happy to be here. There is a very intense struggle at the competition; professional athletes perform. I believe that our team performed well in general," the gymnast added.
To note, Baku is hosting the European TeamGym Championship from October 16 through 19.
The competition is attended by teams from the Czech Republic, Denmark, Austria, Estonia, Finland, Great Britain, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Norway, and Sweden, as well as the national team of Azerbaijan, representing the hosts of the championship.
