BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 17. Kyrgyzstan has proposed the US to launch direct flights, Trend reports.

During a conversation with the US ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Lesslie Viguerie, Deputy Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Nurbek Sydygaliev emphasized the importance of these flights, citing the significant number of Kyrgyz citizens visiting the US.

According to the parliament, Sydygaliev also raised the issue of extending Kyrgyzstan's status under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP+). He expressed gratitude to the US for the decision to extend the validity of visas for Kyrgyz citizens traveling to the States to 10 years on a reciprocal basis, and he proposed extending student visa durations and adding Kyrgyzstan to the list of countries eligible for H-2 work visas.

Sydygaliev noted that Kyrgyzstan is interested in attracting investments from the US.

“We have immense potential for joint projects in the areas of green economy, creative industries, and information technology,” he added.

In turn, Viguerie noted that several major US companies operate in Kyrgyzstan and expressed their interest in further developing cooperation in information technology, hydroelectric power construction, and agriculture.
