BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 17. Prominent political activist Kemi Seba, known for his opposition to France's colonial policies and his advocacy for the rights of African peoples, has been released from French custody, Trend reports.
French media sources report that Seba was detained by the local police in Paris while dining at a restaurant on October 14.
To note, an international conference focused on France's neo-colonial policy in Africa started under the organization of the Baku Initiative Group on October 3. Renowned opponent of French neocolonialism and activist Kemi Seba was also among the participants.
Seba has long been recognized as a prominent figure in the fight for African independence, sovereignty, and resistance to neocolonial powers. He has been a vocal critic of French neocolonial practices and was added to France's "blacklist" due to his strong denunciations of the harm inflicted by French colonial policies on African nations and overseas territories still under its control.
France arrested Seba multiple times in an attempt to silence him, and when those efforts failed, the country revoked his French citizenship.
