BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 17. At the end of the third quarter of 2024, Equinor reported a serious incident frequency (SIF) of 0.3 per million hours worked, consistent with the previous quarter's performance, Trend reports via Equinor.
This figure includes serious injuries as part of the serious incident statistics.
Over the past 12 months, the company has registered seven oil and gas leaks, categorized by severity based on discharge rates. Additionally, the total recordable injury frequency (TRIF) for the last 12 months has risen to 2.4 per million hours worked, an increase from 2.2 at the end of the second quarter.
Equinor is actively engaging with other operating companies and suppliers through its "Always Safe" annual initiative to improve awareness of factors that may hinder safe work performance. For the fourth quarter, the focus of the "Always Safe" learning package will be on health and the working environment.
"We're still headed in the right direction concerning major accident potential, hydrocarbon leaks, and serious incidents," said Jannicke Nilsson, Equinor’s executive vice president for safety, security, and sustainability. "We're seeing a low incident frequency, and it's crucial that we learn from what’s working well."
