DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 18. The National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) has granted a banking license to Freedom Bank Kazakhstan's subsidiary, Freedom Bank Tajikistan, allowing it to operate in both national and foreign currencies, Trend reports.
According to the National Bank, during the license presentation ceremony, NBT Chairman Firdavs Tolibzoda held discussions with Acting Chairman of Freedom Bank Tajikistan Dauren Nissinbayev, focusing on opportunities for expanding the bank's operations.
They explored potential avenues for attracting deposits, issuing loans, opening branches across the country, and enhancing banking services, including digital offerings.
Nissinbayev emphasized that Freedom Bank Tajikistan will consider all opportunities, suggestions, and recommendations to establish a strong position in Tajikistan's banking market.
Freedom Bank announced its intention to enter Tajikistan's market in January 2024. Freedom Bank Kazakhstan is part of the larger Freedom Holding Corp., and as of September 1, 2024, it was ranked as the eighth-largest bank among 21 commercial banks in Kazakhstan.
