BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. The Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND) under the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy has adopted a new state standard, AZS 962:2024, "green business management systems," Trend reports.
The new state standard includes features of minimizing the negative impact of enterprises and organizations on the environment, rational use of resources, and environmental responsibility.
Moreover, the relevant standard will stimulate the introduction of such basic principles as environmental financial management, sustainable supply chain, environmental sustainability, and environmental innovation in the management systems of organizations.
The aforesaid state standard was discussed in the technical committees on standardization "Conformity Assessment" (AZSTAND/TK 08) and "Ecology" (AZSTAND/TK 09) within the framework of the draft standard presented by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and was adopted by general agreement and submitted to the institute for approval.
