NEXT MEETING OF GUAM PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY TO BE HELD IN TBILISI
The GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova) Parliamentary Assembly will meet in Tbilisi in early December, a diplomatic source told Trend.
The gathering will mull issues of expansion of the parliamentary cooperation between the GUAM member countries, adoption of the supplements to the regulations of the organization and rotation principles for membership of the PA, and organization issues.
Azerbaijan will be represented by the parliamentary delegation led by Murtuz Alasgarov, the chairman of the Milli Majlis (parliament).
The constituent meeting of the GUAM PA was held in September 2004 in Kiev, where the headquarters of the organization locates.
The GUAM was established by Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Moldova in 1997. Uzbekistan joined the organization in 1999 and left it in 2005.
